I was a little bit disappointed this month to only receive 4 items in my bag, when it usually comes with 5 (I think?- I've only gotten two so far). I thought that the theme this month, Destination Beauty, was super cute, and I was excited about some of the products that I received.
Pixi Beauty Flawless Beauty Primer
This is probably the only item in the bag that I won't use very often. I already have a great primer, and I just switched over to tinted sunscreen as my makeup of choice, so this didn't seem like something I would use. I'll probably offer it up to a friend or family member if they want to use it.
Marvelous Moxie™ Lipstick in Get Ready
I absolutely love this lipstick! It is the perfect color, not too dark and not too light. It goes on smooth, and I think the super tiny tube is my favorite thing ever. This is a great go-to lip color, and it will be getting a lot of use this spring!
Nicole by OPI Roughles
Ahh, nail polish. My one true love. I haven't had a chance to try this color out yet, but I am so excited to see how it turns out. The formula dries bumpy, almost like the texture of coral, or a rock, which could be cool or could be weird. I'm hoping for cool, because it seems really summery, and I would love to wear it to the beach.
Be a Bombshell Bora Bora Eyeshadow Quad
This was a fun little product to get in my bag. I think that I can use 3 out of 4 of the colors on a pretty consistent basis, but the bright blue I'm not sure how I'll use yet. I love being adventurous with different products, I just need to figure out a look that won't make me look like a drag queen.
Overall, I feel like this was a good bag, I just wish that there was one more product in there, because then I may have had more things that I would use on a consistent basis.
In November, I bought a Groupon for my mom and I to go to an event called Paint Nite. We ended up deciding to go to the one that happened this last Wednesday, and we had so much fun!
Here is my blank canvas before we started. I wasn't convinced that my painting would turn out like the example painting, but I was excited to try!
I think that some of my favorite things that I learned in the class were the new techniques on how to paint. It was so interesting to see how to make the swirly effect that blended in with white. We mixed our own colors, so each person's painting was a bit different.
This was my finished background, which took about half of the class to complete. I am really happy with how my background came out, it's a bit darker than a lot of the other paintings in the class, but I really like the effect.
I loved spending this time with my mom- it was so fun to learn together how to paint. And now we have matching pictures!
This is my final product. I am really happy with how it turned out. Is it weird to say that my signature was the hardest part of the painting? I'm so excited to do this again!
